So I moved to goa on the 2nd of September 2020 and it's the 13th of January as I sit and type this list of recomendations out. No complaints yet. The last 4 months were spent in North Goa living around Siolim and Anjuna (Have just moved to the south a couple of weeks ago). This was the first time that I lived in Goa not to party but to work and detox. Goa has alot more to offer than the drinking binges. As you spend time living here you realize its true beauty.
It took me a lot of trial and error but then found my favourite cafes and places to go and peacefully work from.
Feel free to comment with your recommendations. Will keep updating this article.
Work Friendly cafes for reading, working and chilling
North Goa
Artjuna (www.artjuna.com) ; An all-time favourite with local cafe goers and people who wish to eat well and work. Why is this my recco? Fast wifi, soft music, great crowd and fantastic chocolate truffle (must try!) ! With the early rays of the sun shining overhead, through the leaves, it's definitely a great place to start your day! It's best to get there before it gets crowded. My last experience of Artjuna (before I moved south side), was an early rise, intense Iyenger Yoga class at the cafe (700 INR) with a lovely chia seed fruit pudding brekky and back to back uninterrupted work calls! Keep me posted on your experience as well!
G shot (https://www.gshotcoffeeroastery.com) Any Osho fans? This cafe is primarily run by volunteers! An UN-Business as they proudly call it, has a chill and laid back vibe with phenomenal coffee and exceptional smoothie bowls. You could spend a nice lazy afternoon there.
3. Prana Cafe in Anjuna or Ashwem — Both are equally good. The Anjuna branch has a great paddy field view and a chill place to put in a few hours off work from.
The Ashvem one is right next to the sea so you can catch the sunset at the beach and then make your way for some great dinner and cocktails. https://www.zomato.com/goa/prana-cafe-ashwem
4. Baba Au Rhum https://www.zomato.com/goa/baba-au-rhum-1-anjuna — Their steaks are underrated. Great place for early morning breakfast with their coffee and meat crossaint making for a killer combination or you could catch up with your friends for a chill drunch.
5. Dunes in Mandrem [Location] for a lazy sunset and sea view working spot. Tip for runners — Park at Dunes, Get onto the beach, run till Arambol and back, this is the only uninterrupted stretch in all of North Goa that is this long. Its 3km one way so you can calculate the distance that you want to Run and take a U turn at any point in time. Have their steak or any meat. You won’t be disappointed.
6. Babka cafe — Great coffee and Salmon Bagels. Desserts are to die for.
7. Beam me up — Made me realise that vegan pizzas could actually be good. Great smoothie bowls to order in. Light food. Cant go wrong.
8. Sri in Vagator — Open, less crowded place. Sea food is exceptional. Coffee while average, the laid back vibe of the place makes up for it.
9. Bistro Vagator -
Sunset Places
[Work Friendly - Highly recommended! ] Palm grove resort (Their shack is the best in Goa) — Go around 3 and spend the day taking a dip, reading working etc. I spent countless days just working and chilling from here.
2. La Plage for a lazy afternoon in Morjim - (Not very work friendly , but great cocktails and a place to catch up with friends or your loved one.
3. Cafe at Taj Aguada - Go grab a coffee or a drink, chill outside in the gardens or at their bar and watch the sunset. You cant go wrong.
Favourite Dinner Places
La Cucina (Only the pizza, Deserts are avg)
Sakana for Sushi - Highly reccomended
Sea in Assagao -
Jamun in Assagao - If your mughlai tastebuds are screaming for love
Lunas Ristorente (Everything is great, my fav — Their chocolate Almond Ball)
Rudy’s Bar and Kitchen — If you really really are missing your steaks. Good meat. Nothing else.

Garden of Dreams in Arambol — Great lunch place. You should go by 11–12 as you would like to spend some hours there. Place shuts by 5.

Clay Coworking
Nomad Goa Coworking in Assagao
Accommodation in Goa
Places I stayed at and had a great time
Curioso Studios and Suites (3 months) — Exceptionally comfortable and beautifully designed. Its situated in Siolim and is close to the action yet slightly reserved. Fast Wifi and Great hosts. [Trip advisor link]
Grandpas inn, Anjuna(1 month) — Old property but has a gorgeous pool. Moved out because I wanted my own kitchen and wanted to explore south Goa for a while. [Website link]
Tips to find a place in Goa —
Brokers in Goa are usually giving 6-11 month rentals. Found the first place(Curioso) through AirBnb. Make contact on Airbnb and then switch the conversation to mobile. You will be able to negotiate much better rates while discussing monthly stays. Most folks in Goa are now cognitive of the requirements of remote workers.
Accommodation in Goa is still super unstructured. Best bets are local online groups where a lot of locals post a lot of options.
Found great options on these FB groups - [Highly reccomended] https://www.facebook.com/groups/offbeatgoastays/?ref=share
I have launched a WhatsApp group for Remote workers in Goa — https://chat.whatsapp.com/HhmMHGyqdls7UNA6yd5S5o
- Please ensure that you introduce yourself or else you will be taken off the WhatsApp group to ensure quality control.
